How soft my pup sits when eyes are set with sleep.
If only placid dream did know of all the jumps and leaps.
“She never means to hurt” said one of similar keep, her heart made of such frantic love, never mind her claws and teeth.
Such trusting eyes follow each step, tho fast asleep she knows each breath.
And should one utter the word of walk, awake abrupt does my young dog, expecting adventures of streams and mud.
But settle now as time for bed, and wrapped if fleece and blanket she rest rest her little head.
